078KOBE is a citizen participation festival that promotes an experimental city where different genres, such as technology, entertainment, and education, intersect. It is a festival that seeks the excitement and comfort of urban life. The concept is to gather citizens, artists, creators, and engineers to create a participatory event.

As exponential technological advancements rapidly transform society, individual capabilities also expand significantly. In this era where new ways of living are sought without having to do the same things as others, true self-sovereignty is encouraged. The festival aims to create a city and a life that we all envision and realize together through careful experimentation of the unseen future.

It serves as an international hub where music, movies enjoyed in the city, and technologies that accelerate social change converge across boundaries. Since its inception in 2017, with 3 venues over 2 days, the festival has attracted a total of 30,000 participants in its third edition, including international participants, with 5 venues over 3 days. In 2020, the festival was held in May in an online format and in September in a hybrid format combining online and in-person venues.

With the theme 渦/UZU for this year, we will experiment and navigate the with/after era of the pandemic, exploring the differences before and after and identifying what remains unchanged. Join us as we carve our path forward with an experimental mindset
