## Description

105.9 The Region (CFMS) is an independently owned and operated FM music service that has been keeping the citizens of Markham, Richmond Hill, and Vaughan informed and entertained since its launch in December 2013. With a focus on regional government and services related to York Region, 105.9 The Region quickly expanded its coverage area, now catering to listeners across the GTA and Canada.

This dynamic radio service plays the best of the 80s, 90s, 00s, and now, ensuring a diverse playlist with fewer repeats, appealing to a wide range of age groups. With over 10 hours of news and traffic updates each week, 105.9 The Region keeps its listeners informed about local community issues, transit, and weather.

With partnerships in place with York Regional Transit and York Regional Police, this service is a go-to source for traffic and commute updates in the region. Their third language programming caters to York Region's culturally diverse population, making it a unique and inclusive radio service that truly represents and serves the community.
