## Description

The 112 Education Foundation is a community-focused organization dedicated to enriching and enhancing educational opportunities for children in North Shore School District 112. It supports students and educators through fundraising, school partnerships, and programs that bring creative learning experiences to life. Its Foundation Grants provide district teachers with funding twice a year for innovative enrichment projects, helping them explore ideas, methods, and materials that can improve students’ experiences at school.

The Foundation also sponsors iREAD, a long-running read-a-thon that encourages preschool and elementary students to enjoy reading while raising funds. Participants and schools are recognized for their reading and fundraising achievements. Through a partnership with Ravinia’s ReachTeachPlay Education Programs, the Foundation helps students and families attend the annual Kids Go Classic concert, featuring the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Other initiatives include the Reel 112 Film Festival, student arts activities, and community events. The Foundation also offers Caring Cards, which people can send to express thanks, recognize milestones, or honor someone. Its programs are supported by donations and community involvement.
