## Description

One378 is a local-first AI coding assistant designed to run entirely on a user’s own computer, without cloud dependency, API calls, usage caps, or telemetry. Its integrated system combines a coding-focused model, context engine, tools, and custom inference runtime to support real software development while keeping code and files on-device. The model is based on open-source technology and post-trained specifically for coding, planning, tool use, and structured edits. Its compact 8 GB footprint is designed to fit within 16 GB of unified memory, and the custom Rust engine is optimized for Apple Silicon, with support for CUDA and Metal also described.

One378 offers repository-wide code understanding, multi-step planning, code edits, refactoring, test generation, feature work, web search, and command execution. Agent workspaces can be isolated to support safer experiments and parallel tasks. The product is currently for macOS, with Apple Silicon M2 or later and at least 16 GB of RAM listed as requirements; Linux and Windows support are planned.
