## Description

14 Squadron, historically rooted in the Royal Flying Corps, was formed on February 3, 1915, in Shoreham under Captain Alexander Ross-Hume. Initially operational with a mix of aircraft, the Squadron was pivotal during World War I, focusing on air support in the Middle Eastern theatre, particularly during the Palestine campaign. As it evolved, 14 Squadron utilized a variety of aircraft, including the BE2c, RE8, and later, the Bristol FE2b, effectively conducting reconnaissance and supporting artillery operations against Turkish forces.
