## Description

2A Firearms Academy is a Bay Area firearms training provider focused on safety, responsible gun ownership, legal awareness, and practical self-defense skills. Its certified instructors help first-time firearm owners, experienced shooters, concealed-carry applicants, and church security teams build confidence through hands-on instruction and real-world practice. The academy offers California CCW initial and renewal training, basic and intermediate handgun courses, private firearms instruction, first-time shooter classes, defensive shotgun training, and online learning options. Training includes live-fire diagnostics, drills, coaching, and guidance on California self-defense law. The academy reports approval to provide CCW instruction for sheriff and police department agencies across more than 30 jurisdictions, with service areas spanning Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Mateo, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo counties, among others. Founded by Doug Kevilus, a U.S. Army veteran and certified instructor, with co-founder Ryan Lewis, the academy emphasizes an educational, safety-first approach designed to prepare students to handle firearms lawfully and responsibly.
