## Description

2 Denarii Society is a Halifax-area non-profit organization supporting adults aged 19 and over on their journey to recovery from addiction. Formerly known as Alcare Place, it opened in Halifax in 1987 and has developed a client-centered, holistic approach to helping people address substance use, including addiction to alcohol and drugs. The organization currently offers a six-week daytime recovery program in Dartmouth for co-ed clients, providing a safe, stable and supportive setting for change, healing and personal growth. With space for up to 12 participants, the program includes holistic recovery topics, relapse prevention, anger management, one-on-one counselling, and an introduction to Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings. A volunteer Board of Directors and a diverse, qualified staff team support participants throughout the program. 2 Denarii’s work also aims to strengthen families and communities by helping clients rebuild their lives and relationships. The Society is accepting applications and is planning to secure and fit up a new live-in addiction recovery facility over the next two to three years.
