## Description

3IP Type Foundry, a division of Three Islands Press based in Rockport, Maine, specializes in crafting unique and historically-inspired typefaces. Founded by Brian Willson in 1989, the foundry has gained acclaim for its diverse library that includes historical recreations, fine text types, and distinctive handwriting fonts, many modeled after vintage penmanship and antique texts. The collection also features old map fonts, display faces, and offbeat styles, serving a wide array of design needs. With a background in journalism and a passion for type design, Willson has dedicated his career to producing authentic typefaces that resonate with history and artistry.

Alongside Willson’s contributions, the foundry showcases the work of Lars Bergquist, a Swedish type designer known for his expertise in historical text types. Together, they have created a blend of fonts that not only enrich American typography but also cater to collectors and designers seeking period-specific styles. 3IP Type Foundry is committed to providing quality type solutions that inspire creativity and elevate design projects.
