Taking inspiration from the 1965 Selma to Montgomery marches, which covered 54 miles and brought about significant progress in the civil rights movement, 50 Miles More organizes and mobilizes through direct action to demand transformation of current systems. They focus on a range of issues, including Black Lives Matter, ending gun violence, ensuring clean drinking water, and achieving liberation for marginalized communities. Led by young people, the organization strives to be intersectional and inclusive, with a commitment to dismantling systemic oppression.
