About
Description
The Friends of Seven Islands State Birding Park is a 501c3 corporation formed in 2015 to support the Seven Islands State Birding Park. Their mission is to protect, preserve, and promote the park's natural resources, and to promote public education. With over 200 identified species of birds, Seven Islands is a birdwatcher's paradise.
The park also offers activities like hiking, photography, wildlife observation, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Visitors can also enjoy stunning views of the Great Smoky Mountains and spot wildlife like River Otters, Bald Eagles, and White-tailed Deer. As Knox County's only state park, it encompasses 416 acres along the French Broad River and features eight miles of natural trails.
It is also a research and educational facility and a demonstration area for land use and habitat management techniques. Come and experience Tennessee's 56th State Park and help make Seven Islands State Birding Park a world-class birding destination
