## Description

8inks AG is a Switzerland-based battery manufacturing company founded on years of research at ETH Zurich. It develops process solutions designed to bring battery chemistry, cell design, and manufacturing together from the start, helping battery technologies reach their potential at scale. Its core innovation is multilayer curtain coating, a one-step electrode manufacturing process that can apply multiple layers with a broad range of thicknesses and material properties. The technology supports advanced cell architectures and materials, including silicon anodes, LFP cathodes, and solid electrolytes, while aiming to improve performance and production efficiency.

8inks offers pilot projects with end-to-end validation, covering cell design, slurry and electrode engineering, and pouch cells. It also provides contract electrode manufacturing and customized production-system implementation for new or existing coating lines. The company cites potential benefits including higher throughput, reduced production costs and factory footprint, and fewer process steps. Its platform serves battery applications across automotive, aviation, drones, trucks and buses, consumer electronics, stationary storage, industrial uses, and new mobility.
