## Description

The Aligarh Alumni Association of New England (AAANE) is a non-political, non-profit, secular 501(c)(3) organization founded in Massachusetts in 2002. It brings together graduates of Aligarh Muslim University and friends of the institution across six New England states, sustaining connections through scholarship, service, and cultural heritage. The association promotes AMU’s interests, supports underprivileged students in India, and carries forward the educational ideals of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.

AAANE’s flagship scholarship programs provide financial support, mentorship, post-doctoral placements, and graduate opportunities, connecting students with leading U.S. universities. Its community service includes blood drives, CPR training, food kitchens, and shelter support. The organization also builds a professional network for alumni in medicine, academia, law, and business.

Cultural and literary activities include Eid Milan, Sir Syed Day, social gatherings, and Urdu poetry events such as the annual Mushaira. Through these programs, AAANE offers alumni and families opportunities to learn, serve, celebrate shared traditions, and strengthen their community.
