## Description

The American Association of Avian Pathologists (AAAP) is an international professional association established in 1957. It brings together people working in avian diseases and advances science-based knowledge, expertise, and education in poultry health, welfare, and food safety. Its programs support collaboration among veterinarians, researchers, students, and other members of the poultry community.

AAAP holds an annual scientific meeting and symposium where participants share and discuss current findings and issues in poultry disease. The association publishes Avian Diseases, a quarterly international journal featuring basic and clinical research, and produces educational resources including Diseases of Poultry and the Avian Disease Manual. Members can take part in committees and interest groups focused on topics such as avian influenza, epidemiology, poultry diseases, and education. Membership resources include access to the journal, career tools, research priorities, and student resources. Through the AAAP Foundation, the organization also offers scholarships, travel support, and awards recognizing achievement and service in poultry medicine. AAAP further advocates on poultry-related issues and provides guidance to veterinarians and companies.
