## Description

**Academia Artis Dimicatoriae (AAD)** is a dedicated group focused on the study and practice of historical European martial arts (HEMA). Established to revive original combat techniques that flourished across Europe for centuries, AAD specializes in diverse forms of fighting that involve a variety of cold weapons, including swords, daggers, messers, and polearms like spears and halberds. The academy emphasizes a deep understanding of the "German martial tradition" prevalent from the 13th to 17th centuries, with a particular interest in the teachings of the master Joachim Meyer.

Membership is open to adults who attend training sessions twice a week throughout the academic year, and new members can join until the end of October. Besides regular training, AAD organizes workshops and seminars, fostering collaboration with practitioners and theorists both locally and internationally. Compromised of skilled instructors and active members of global HEMA organizations, AAD enriches its programs through research and interpretation of primary sources, promoting European martial heritage through safe and effective training methods.
