## Description

The Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) is a neutral, open organization working to advance agentic AI in the public interest through transparency, collaboration, and standardization. Its guiding idea is that, as with the internet, open protocols and open-source projects can provide a shared foundation for the next generation of AI systems. AAIF brings together builders and practitioners to develop standards, exchange knowledge, and shape the technology’s direction.

Its community supports projects including AGENTS.md, an open format for guiding coding agents; Model Context Protocol (MCP), which connects language model applications with external data; Agent2Agent (A2A), for communication and collaboration between agents; and tools such as agentgateway and Agent Router for connecting agents, models, tools, and APIs. The foundation also highlights community-built projects and invites proposals and contributions.

AAIF offers events, articles, newsletters, and working groups focused on topics such as reliability, security, identity, governance, observability, and workflow integration. These activities help participants learn from real-world practice and contribute to shared approaches for agentic AI.
