## Description

The Association of Ambulance Professionals Uganda (AAPU) is an umbrella body bringing together pre-hospital emergency medical services providers in Uganda. Based in Kampala, it represents and serves emergency medical services practitioners through advocacy, education, coordination, research, public education and networking. AAPU also supports coordination of emergency responses during disasters and promotes collaboration across the sector.

Its services include professional training, ambulance inspections and assessments, and pre-hospital disaster response coordination and management. Training options listed by AAPU include the Uganda First Aid Course for Lay Responders, an 80-hour EMT course, the B-EMT Course, Basic Emergency Care, Community First Aid Responder training, workplace first aid and specialized programs. The organization also advertises pre-hospital emergency care courses and events, including a regional symposium and expo focused on trauma, injuries and emergency care.

AAPU offers membership for people working in the field and invites supporters to donate. Through its programs and professional network, the association works to strengthen emergency medical services and pre-hospital care in Uganda.
