## Description

The Association académique pour la recherche historique et sociologique dans le domaine de l’énergie (AARHSE) is a French association dedicated to promoting research and awareness of energy history and sociology. It brings together individuals and organizations active in these fields, including museums, universities and other research or educational institutions, and foundations. The association’s work highlights the historical heritage of electricity and gas, an area it describes as often overlooked.

AARHSE organizes the Prix de l’AARHSE, a competition recognizing works in the humanities, such as history and sociology, that focus on energy. The award has three categories and a total endowment of €10,000, part of which supports the visibility of winning work. The association also shares selected books and publications, including university research and historical studies produced by local energy authorities and distribution companies. Its website offers information about places where visitors can discover electricity and gas heritage, as well as videos about the prize.
