## Description

Aarhusjazzhistorie.dk is a cultural history project initiated by Aarhus Jazz Festival to document and share the story of jazz in Aarhus across a century, from 1919 to 2019. Launched in 2017, the project presents the people, places and musical developments that shaped the city’s jazz scene. Its website organizes material into three historical periods: 1919–1949, 1950–1979 and 1980–2019. Visitors can explore articles about jazz venues and local anecdotes, alongside interviews and photo galleries. The later period describes a growing, more established jazz community, with new institutions, festivals and performance venues, while traditional jazz continued alongside influences from other musical forms. The site serves as an online archive and educational resource for anyone interested in Aarhus’s cultural heritage and jazz history. It is connected with Aarhus Jazz Festival, whose contact information and links, including to the festival website and Facebook, are provided. Aarhusjazzhistorie.dk offers historical content rather than commercial products, and credits the project’s contributors.
