# Aars Skakklub - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `aarsskakklub.dk` ## Description Aars Skakklub is a community chess club serving Aars and the surrounding area, with a history dating back to its founding in 1919. Based at HEG on Ø. Boulevard in Aars, the club welcomes players of all ages and abilities, including complete beginners. Members and visitors meet on Monday evenings for friendly games, instruction and organised competitions, with no need to book before a first visit. The club offers children’s and youth chess sessions every Monday afternoon, helping young players learn the game and take part in Junior Grand Prix events. For adults and experienced players, its programme includes club tournaments, rapid chess and team competition in the 7th Main District under the Danish Chess Union. Aars fields two teams and also hosts the Himmerland Tournament, a long-running regional event.
