## Description

Åsane Historielag is a local history society dedicated to helping people discover and preserve the history and cultural heritage of Åsane, in the Bergen area of Norway. Through its website, the organisation shares historical articles, photographs, information about local farms and community life, and material from its publication Åsabuen. Visitors can explore a traditional calendar, press clippings and links to further resources, while members and local residents are encouraged to contribute knowledge and memories.

The society also brings local history to life through public talks, meetings, cultural events and exhibitions. Its historical photography displays have featured images of Åsane in earlier times, giving visitors an opportunity to connect with the area’s past. The organisation supports heritage conservation and presents a cultural heritage award in recognition of contributions to preserving and communicating Åsane’s history. It also highlights the Almås farms and their preservation, including through Almåsgårdenes venner. Åsane Historielag welcomes people interested in learning about the area, taking part in activities, sharing historical information or becoming members.
