## Description

The American Alliance for Theatre & Education (AATE) is a national nonprofit dedicated to advancing theatre education and strengthening its impact in communities. It brings together individuals and organizations working across theatre, education, and the arts, with membership options for individuals, universities, and other educational institutions. AATE supports its community through conferences, symposia, retreats, mentorship programs, professional networks, and online learning opportunities, including a Teaching Artist Certificate and graduate credit offerings. Its programs address a wide range of interests, from applied theatre, youth theatre, and playwriting to research, early childhood education, and professional practice. AATE also promotes theatre in schools through resources, workshops, and advocacy initiatives, and provides access to national arts standards and teaching materials. Members and the wider field can engage with the organization’s awards, career opportunities, publications such as the Youth Theatre Journal, and scholarship opportunities. Through its events, resources, advocacy, and community-building activities, AATE works to foster creative practice, inclusion, and continued development in theatre education.
