AAVEA, the African Association of Visitor Experiences and Attractions, is a membership-driven association that represents and advocates for the interests of visitor experiences and attractions in Africa. They aim to raise awareness of the important contribution these attractions make to the broader tourism industry. AAVEA offers the only educational opportunities for visitor experience and attraction professionals on the continent.

Originally starting as a two-day conference focused on education, training, benchmarking, and networking, AAVEA officially became an association in November 2018. They now have over 50 members in the African attractions industry, including professionals, stakeholders, and suppliers.

AAVEA's core pillars include data gathering and benchmarking, advocacy, training and education, community building, and hosting an annual conference. They also recently conducted the first-ever Benchmark Survey of attractions in South Africa, providing valuable insights into the industry.
