## Description

ABCAP, the Associação Brasileira de Capoeiristas, is a Brazilian organization dedicated to teaching Capoeira, developing citizens through the practice, and sharing Brazilian culture. Founded on August 3, 2019, the Day of the Capoeirista, the association welcomes children and adults, including beginners. Its classes combine movement, fight, dance, and cultural learning, and students can also learn to play Capoeira instruments. The organization’s website highlights training in Tatuapé and Anália Franco and includes references to Capoeira in Ipiranga and Osasco. It also notes that training was being moved to the Ipiranga neighborhood, with activities expected to resume in 2022, and invites interested people to get in touch for updates. The association is led by Mestre Japão, who began practicing Capoeira in Rio de Janeiro in the early 1990s with Grupo Terra. He later worked with Grupo Arte Negra and founded Associação Nagoas de Capoeira, promoting graduations, courses, and lectures in support of the art. ABCAP provides contact options by phone, WhatsApp, and social media.
