## Description

The Brazilian Association of Medical Education (ABEM) is an organization dedicated to advancing medical education in Brazil. It connects medical schools, educators, students, researchers, preceptors, managers, and other institutions through national and regional networks. ABEM supports discussion of educational policy and practice, shares institutional positions and documents, and provides opportunities for members to participate in its activities.

Its resources include the Brazilian Journal of Medical Education, newsletters, thematic publications, books, and proceedings from national and regional congresses. The association also develops initiatives focused on educator development, teaching and preceptorship, student learning, clinical simulation, communication, internships, well-being, and medical school management. Other programs include progress testing, the Projeto Rever, academic research, and a directory of medical schools.

ABEM organizes the Brazilian Congress of Medical Education (COBEM) and regional congresses, bringing the medical education community together to exchange knowledge and address topics such as curriculum guidelines, assessment, technology, and training for Brazil’s public health system. Based in Brasília, the association offers membership to individuals and institutions.
