About

Description

The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) is the premier agency dedicated to honoring the achievements and sacrifice of the U. S. Armed Forces.

Established by Congress in 1923, ABMC is the guardian of America’s overseas commemorative cemeteries and memorials. The Luxembourg American Cemetery serves as the final resting place for over 5,000 Americans who gave their lives in World War II. ABMC seeks to preserve the legacy of service by commemorating and venerating American military service, sacrifice, and achievements.

Their mission is to honor the evolving nature of sacrifice, while their vision is to be the preeminent agency for commemorating and venerating American military service. ABMC values honor, respect, excellence, stewardship, and commitment in their dedication to maintaining and promoting America's overseas commemorative cemeteries and memorials. They also offer a range of educational resources and employ a professional staff to carry out their mission.
