## Description

Abundelo is a conservation education initiative that equips young people living near protected areas in Africa with practical knowledge and a connection to the ecosystems around them. Its mission is to help foster a new generation of leaders committed to safeguarding these vital environments. The program offers curriculum-based environmental learning designed for classrooms and community settings, rather than relying on internet access. Working with African Parks and in collaboration with SafetyCulture, Abundelo delivers interactive courses offline using Samsung Galaxy tablets. Community facilitators guide students through the learning, making the program accessible even where connectivity is unavailable.

Abundelo has reached more than 2,331 students across 48 schools and operates in six national parks across five countries: the Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Mozambique, Chad, and Malawi. The program began with a pilot in Odzala-Kokoua National Park and is expanding across African Parks’ network, with the stated aim of reaching all 22 parks in 12 countries.
