## Description

Serve Markdown is a web resource that explains how to make website content easier for AI agents and language models to retrieve. It promotes content negotiation: a site can return Markdown when a client sends an Accept: text/markdown header, while continuing to serve HTML to browsers at the same URL. The goal is to provide cleaner, more efficient access to existing content by omitting navigation, scripts, styling, and other page elements that can consume processing time and context.

The site offers a quick-start guide, practical implementation guides, and copy-and-paste recipes for platforms and frameworks including Nginx, Caddy, WordPress, Laravel, Rails, Cloudflare Workers, Next.js, Astro, Express, Go, and Django. Its URL checker tests how an origin responds to Markdown requests, evaluates AI readiness, and provides a scorecard. Additional resources cover HTTP headers, caching, quality values, error responses, and standards such as RFC 9110 and RFC 7763. A status page tracks AI agent support. The project is built by Ben Word.
