Description
Yielding Accomplished African Women (YAAW) is a brand dedicated to empowering and supporting African women in achieving their goals and success in STEM careers. With a focus on addressing the pipeline and pathway problem faced by Black women in STEM, YAAW's mission is to ensure that talented individuals can thrive in the tech industry. For female university students, YAAW offers comprehensive training programs that equip them with practical knowledge and skills essential to succeed in a professional environment.
The curriculum, designed by experts from top companies like Google, Capital One, and Goldman Sachs, covers a wide range of subjects including personal and professional development, finance, and technology. YAAW also works with companies to bridge the gap between talent and opportunities. By providing preliminary training through their talent accelerator, they enable companies to onboard distinguished female talent efficiently.
YAAW's recruitment competency models help businesses make accurate and cost-effective hiring decisions, increasing diversity of gender and thought within the workplace. Through their AI-powered online platform, YAAW gamifies hireability, allowing students to track their progress in real-time as they learn skills, gain experience, and expand their network. Additionally, their Our Girls, Our Future Accelerator program, recognized by the United Nations, aims to inspire, upskill, and credentialize Black college women in tech and finance.
