CIDA, the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, is a well-respected and independent accrediting organization for interior design education programs worldwide. With over 35 years of experience, CIDA is dedicated to enriching the interior design profession by promoting and upholding high-quality standards for entry-level interior designers. CIDA achieves this through rigorous program evaluation and peer review, ensuring that accredited programs meet the highest academic standards and remain responsive to student and societal needs. Currently, CIDA accredits more than 170 interior design programs, serving approximately 20,000 students. Recognized and trusted by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), CIDA focuses on professional-level interior design programs that offer bachelor's or first-professional master's degrees. As a passionate and knowledge-driven organization, CIDA values the continuous improvement and enhancement of interior design education. They set high standards for education, challenge others to meet and exceed those standards, and actively contribute to the advancement of the interior design profession. CIDA's primary activities include setting standards for interior design education, evaluating and accrediting college and university programs, and facilitating outreach and collaboration within the interior design community.
