## Description

ACE Global is an ophthalmologist-led nonprofit organization focused on reducing preventable blindness by strengthening eye care in underserved communities. It teaches and trains ophthalmologists and other eye care providers in low- and middle-income countries, helping them build the skills and confidence to provide accessible, high-quality care and develop locally self-sufficient eye care centers. Its work centers on partnership, mentorship, world-class training, and technology-enabled education. Programs include ophthalmology fellowships in Honduras, distance surgical mentorship, and a Digital Training Hub and Wet Lab where residents practice manual and phaco procedures using artificial eyes and can receive live coaching from mentors. ACE Global also connects local trainees with volunteer mentors and teaching teams, including partner physicians who provide training opportunities. By supporting both surgical competency and the development of sustainable services, the organization aims to expand access to interventions such as cataract surgery and eyeglasses. Its broader purpose is to lessen the global burden of avoidable vision loss and help communities overcome the social and economic effects of blindness.
