## Description

The Andrew Croft Memorial Fund is a registered charity established in 1998 to preserve and promote the life, spirit and hopes of Colonel Andrew Croft DSO OBE, an Arctic explorer and wartime commando. Its work reflects Croft’s commitment to adventure, education, leadership and public service. The Fund provides annual grants for Arctic expeditions and research, supporting young people under 30 to take part in scientific fieldwork. It may also fund initiatives benefiting inhabitants of Arctic communities, at the trustees’ discretion. A further focus is helping members of the police with the costs of further education and training that can strengthen their effectiveness in the community. Grant applications are considered by the trustees, with awards typically approved in March or April. The Fund’s website shares information about Croft’s varied career, its objectives, application guidance and previous beneficiaries, and invites prospective applicants to get in touch with questions. Through these grants and resources, the charity continues to support exploration, research and professional development in keeping with its founding purpose.
