## Description

The Association of Deaf Children of Moldova (ACSM) is an independent, non-governmental and non-political organization registered with the Ministry of Justice on July 23, 1996, and recognized as an organization of public utility. Its work focuses on children with hearing impairments and their inclusion in society. In 2002, ACSM established the Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Hearing Impairments in Chisinau, in partnership with UNICEF Moldova, CORDAID Netherlands and the city’s education department.

The association also shares practical information through publications for families, educators and people with disabilities. Its resources include guides on speech development for children with hearing loss, support for parents, and preventing discrimination in employment. ACSM works with public institutions and civil society partners, including education and social protection ministries, the National Employment Agency and the Motivation Association. Its projects address social integration, anti-discrimination, youth participation, sport and creativity. Through its centre, educational materials, partnerships and projects, ACSM supports children with hearing impairments and promotes greater understanding of their needs.
