## Description

The ACT Gambling Support Service (AGSS) provides support, information and practical assistance to people affected by gambling harm in the Australian Capital Territory. Its services are available to people concerned about their own gambling, as well as family members, friends and others affected by someone else’s gambling. A free helpline, 1800 858 858, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

AGSS offers counselling, peer support and financial counselling, alongside drop-in support groups for people experiencing gambling harm and for family and friends. Peer support workers draw on shared experience to encourage and empower people to make positive changes. The service also helps loved ones understand their options and approach difficult conversations safely.

Through community education and engagement, AGSS shares information about gambling harm, risk awareness and ways to find support. Its resources include lived-experience stories, campaigns and a podcast. The service aims to make it easier for people to talk about gambling-related challenges and access appropriate support.
