# ACT UP Oral History - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `actuporalhistory.org` ## Description The ACT UP Oral History Project is a historical archive documenting the people and activism of ACT UP/New York, the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power. Coordinated by Jim Hubbard and Sarah Schulman, it brings together 187 interviews with members who organized to confront the AIDS crisis through advocacy and direct action. The interviews explore what inspired participants, how they built campaigns, and the impact of their work on public perceptions, medical research, drug approval, health care, law, and patient rights. Alongside the interviews, the project features the Latina/o Caucus Archive, a mixed-media collection developed by Julián de Mayo from materials largely drawn from former members’ personal collections. This archive highlights the caucus’s role in AIDS activism and in advancing LGBT activism in Puerto Rico. The website makes these resources available for study, research, and discussion, presenting diverse personal accounts and practical lessons about organizing for social change. It also provides information on interview permissions and citations, and connects visitors with related works, including the documentary United in Anger and Sarah Schulman’s book Let the Record Show. The original interview materials are preserved at Harvard University Library. ## Industries - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 Libraries and Museums _(under Science and Education)_ - 🧪 History _(under Science and Education)_ ## Links - [instagram](https://instagram.com/actuporalhistoryproject) - [facebook](https://facebook.com/actuporalhistoryproject) ## Logos & icons - icon _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idngpE9KZH/w/410/h/410/theme/dark/icon.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1791692484257) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Hawaiian Tan | #a74f17 | accent | | Redwood | #571f0f | dark | | Rajah | #f7c777 | light | ## Fonts - acumin-pro — asset _(custom)_ - var(--meta-font-font-family) — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
