## Description

Acumen is a global impact-investing organization working to break the cycle of poverty by building markets that include people underserved by business as usual. Since its founding, Acumen has championed patient capital—investment that gives visionary entrepreneurs the time and support to develop businesses that improve lives. Its work brings together entrepreneurs, investors, philanthropists, and social innovators, with regional teams operating across America, East Africa, Europe, India, Latin America, Pakistan, Southeast Asia, and other markets.

Acumen invests in companies and supports their growth from seed to scale through Acumen Ventures, while its patient-capital approach helps businesses expand solutions to social and economic challenges. Acumen Academy provides learning and leadership-development resources for people seeking to create social change. The organization focuses on areas including sustainable agriculture, quality education, renewable energy, healthy communities, dignified jobs, and gender equality. It also shares insights from its investments through reports, case studies, articles, and research, helping entrepreneurs and partners learn from experience and advance more inclusive, resilient markets.
