## Description

Ada Limón is an American poet and author of six poetry collections, recognized for work that connects personal experience with the natural world. Her book The Carrying won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry, while Bright Dead Things was nominated for the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award. Her writing has also received support from a Guggenheim Fellowship. Through books, public projects, readings, and collaborations, Limón invites audiences to engage with poetry and the landscapes around them. As U.S. Poet Laureate, she launched You Are Here: Poetry in the Natural World, a project that includes an anthology of 50 original poems by living American poets, published by Milkweed Editions in association with the Library of Congress. Its Poetry in the Parks initiative placed historic American poems on picnic tables in seven national parks. Limón has also collaborated with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory on a poem engraved aboard the Europa Clipper spacecraft.
