## Description

The Amateur Drama Council of Ireland (ADCI) is a voluntary federation supporting amateur drama festivals across the island of Ireland, North and South. Founded in 1952, the Council has coordinated preliminary festivals and All-Ireland competitions for more than seven decades, helping drama groups connect with audiences and communities throughout the country. Today, ADCI has 37 full-length member festivals and nine one-act member festivals. Its activities include organising and supporting full-length and one-act festival circuits, with information on festival schedules, registration, contacts, league tables and All-Ireland finals available through its website. The Council also shares news and events from the amateur theatre community and provides details of the DLI/ADCI Playwriting Award. By bringing festivals and drama groups together, ADCI helps sustain opportunities for performers to present their work and for audiences to enjoy live amateur theatre. Its ongoing programme includes group registration for festival circuits and the coordination of events that showcase drama talent across Ireland.
