## Description

The Adenauer Fellowship for Media and Communication in Asia is a scholarship programme offered by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s Media Programme Asia, a German political foundation affiliated with the Christian Democratic Union. Working with educational partners in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and the Philippines, it supports aspiring and established journalists through academic study and practical training in journalism, news media, reporting and photojournalism.

Fellowship opportunities include postgraduate journalism studies and practical traineeships. Partner programmes include the Asian Center for Journalism at Ateneo de Manila University’s 10-month Diploma of Visual Journalism, as well as 24-month traineeships with Asia News Network and Dawn.com. Support may include semester grants or a one-time allowance, tuition assistance for eligible postgraduate students, and monthly allowances for trainees. Fellows also gain access to a network of more than 300 peers, alumni, media and policy experts, along with KAS Media Programme Asia events and workshops. Applicants must be from Asia, hold a university degree, have journalism experience and be proficient in English.
