## Description

The African Digital Health Library (ADHL) is an innovative initiative that unites medical librarians across major universities in sub-Saharan Africa to digitize and disseminate crucial health research. Committed to enhancing access to knowledge, ADHL collates theses, dissertations, and Ministry of Health reports, making them available to anyone with an internet connection. This effort not only facilitates research planning in the region but also exemplifies the spirit of South-South collaboration in sharing valuable information.

Operating from DSpace platforms at six universities across five African countries, ADHL's mission is to create universal access to a digital library dedicated to public health, science, and medicine. Funded by prominent U.S. organizations, including the Office of Global AIDS and the National Library of Medicine, the ADHL aims to showcase previously inaccessible in-country research. With a dedicated project team, including experienced consultants in health information and digital management, the library serves as a vital resource for programming, policy-making, teaching, and learning in African health sectors.
