## Description

A.DI.GEM (Associazione Diabetici Gemelli) is a volunteer organization accredited by the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital in Rome. It supports people with diabetes and their families through information, community activities, and practical initiatives connected with the hospital’s diabetes clinic. The association aims to help people understand diabetes, manage everyday health needs, and make their voices heard.

Its resources include information about diabetes, carbohydrate counting, useful guidance for travel, and a partner app for health management. A.DI.GEM also organizes events and community activities, including educational gatherings, awareness initiatives, and activities for children with diabetes. Its practical support has included donating blood-pressure monitors for patients and an orthopedic shoe, while its events bring together people with diabetes and health professionals.

People can take part by becoming members, attending events, or supporting the association through donations and Italy’s 5×1000 tax contribution. Based at Policlinico Gemelli, A.DI.GEM describes its community as a place for support, friendship, and collective advocacy for the rights of people with diabetes.
