## Description

The Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) is a landmark research study focused on brain aging, memory, and Alzheimer’s disease. Its goal is to increase the pace of discovery toward preventing, treating, and ultimately curing Alzheimer’s. ADNI follows changes in participants’ thinking and memory over time, helping researchers better understand brain health and the progression of the disease. Study data are shared with the scientific community and have contributed to more than 4,000 research discoveries.

ADNI brings participants and researchers together to advance knowledge that may benefit individuals, families, and future generations. The initiative also emphasizes the importance of making research more representative, noting limited data about dementia risks among Black, Latino, and Asian older adults. Study sites have been located across the United States and Canada. The ADNI Digital study is no longer accepting new participants; people interested in other research opportunities are directed to the Brain Health Registry. ADNI provides information about the study and support through its website, email, and telephone contact.
