# Standardbred Retirement Foundation-Adopt A Horse II - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `adoptahorse.org` ## Description Standardbred Retirement Foundation (SRF) is a brand dedicated to providing humane care and services for horses in need of lifetime homes. They offer a range of services, including rehabilitation, training, adoption, lifelong follow-up, and lifetime sanctuary. SRF also provides therapeutic equine opportunities for both children and adults. Founded in 1989 by Mrs. Judith Bokman and Mrs. Paula Campbell, SRF recognizes the dire situation faced by retired Standardbred racehorses. These horses, no longer competitive in races or able to breed, are often sold to dealers and can end up in slaughterhouses or used for labor on asphalt streets. SRF steps in to rescue and rehabilitate these horses, giving them a chance for a new life. With the help of dedicated volunteers, SRF has been successful in saving hundreds of trotters and pacers from slaughter, ensuring they receive the care they need. The organization relies heavily on donations, with approximately 80% of its funding coming from generous individuals. As the model program since its inception, SRF is committed to the lifetime well-being of the horses it rescues. Ownership remains with SRF, allowing them to intervene if the adopted care situation becomes inadequate. Regular vet follow-ups are also required to ensure the well-being of the adopted horses. With farms located in various states such as NJ, VA, KY, NC, MN, and NY, SRF welcomes questions and visits to witness their work firsthand. They have a transparent approach, and their federal tax returns can be accessed online or requested at any time. SRF is proud to be a brand that goes above and beyond to provide a lifeline for retired Standardbred racehorses, ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve. ## Industries - 🐶 Pets and Animals - 🐶 Horses _(under Pets and Animals)_ - 🎗 Community and Society - 🎗 Philanthropy _(under Community and Society)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idUwAXcQk1/w/124/h/106/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1771771319782) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Cloudy | #a8a6a5 | accent | | Black | #000000 | dark | | Casablanca | #f9ad4d | light | ## Fonts - avenir-lt-w01_35-light1475496 — asset _(custom)_ - Arial — asset _(custom)_ ## Imagery - banner _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idUwAXcQk1/w/1500/h/500/idOkM9j24a.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1698008646673) --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
