The Asbestos Disease Support Society (ADSS), established in 1992 by the late Shirley White OAM, is a dedicated not-for-profit organization committed to supporting individuals impacted by asbestos-related diseases, along with their families and caregivers. Operating under four main pillars—Support, Advocacy, Awareness, and Education—ADSS provides essential resources and services aimed at enhancing the understanding and management of asbestos-related health risks.

With a membership exceeding 750, the Society caters to patients, their loved ones, and professionals in the medical and legal fields. Members benefit from comprehensive services including access to social workers, clinical support, nutritional advice, and information on legal rights related to asbestos exposure. Additionally, the Society has expanded its support to include the Silicosis Support Network, addressing the needs of those diagnosed with silicosis.

ADSS is also committed to raising public awareness and advocating for policy change on asbestos-related issues, ensuring that those affected receive the necessary understanding and aid.
