Athora Ireland plc, formerly known as Aegon Ireland plc, is an Irish insurance company with a focus on providing reinsurance solutions to insurers. Acquired by Athora in April 2018, it embarked on a new chapter in its strategy by offering reinsurance solutions. The company was rebranded as Athora Ireland plc in July 2018.

In December 2018, Athora Ireland sold its offshore bond portfolio to Utmost Ireland, which amounted to approximately €3 billion in assets under administration for 7,000 UK-based customers. Athora Ireland and Athora Life Re were both awarded inaugural financial strength ratings in the same month. In December 2021, Athora Ireland completed the sale of its variable annuity portfolio to Monument Life Insurance.

As a result, Athora Ireland will now focus on the further development of Athora's rapidly growing reinsurance business. Athora Ireland is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.
