## Description

AESHA is a Spanish association focused on alternating hemiplegia of childhood (AHC), a rare and serious neurological disorder, and conditions associated with the ATP1A3 gene. The organisation brings together families, researchers, clinicians and advocates to raise awareness, support people affected by AHC and encourage progress in research and care. Its work includes sharing educational resources, documentaries, videos, research documents and news, as well as organising family gatherings and community activities. AESHA also supports and co-funds international research projects, including a study investigating electrical instability in the brain during AHC episodes and what may trigger or worsen them. The association contributes to public awareness campaigns and fundraising efforts, and represents the Spanish patient community in international collaboration. AESHA has organised scientific meetings, including the 2024 ATP1A3 symposium in Barcelona, and promotes upcoming events that connect researchers and families worldwide. Through information, advocacy, community-building and research support, AESHA works to make AHC better understood and to improve the lives of those affected.
