## Description

Associação de Equitação Terapêutica de Braga (AETB) is a Braga-based association dedicated to promoting health, well-being and rehabilitation through interaction with horses. Its programs serve children, young people and adults with special educational needs, offering sessions in a safe, welcoming setting with support from health professionals specializing in different areas.

AETB provides three main services. Hippotherapy uses the horse’s movement to support rehabilitation, particularly in neuromotor development. Therapeutic Riding addresses psychomotor, emotional, social, cognitive and academic goals, while also introducing participants to riding. Adapted Riding modifies equestrian activities to accommodate a rider’s limitations, with sporting and recreational aims.

The association explains that the horse’s three-dimensional movement can provide sensory input and support body positioning, movement and posture. Its interventions may also contribute to motor, cognitive, psychosocial, educational and behavioral skills. AETB’s mission is to advance health and rehabilitation through therapeutic and adapted riding, guided by respect, integrity and inclusion. The association shares news and events about its programs and invites people to learn more about enrollment and available sessions.
