A Family For Every Child (AFFEC) is a nonprofit organization committed to finding permanent and loving adoptive families for waiting foster children. Our mission revolves around providing a safe and nurturing environment for children who are often considered hard to place by the foster care system. These children may be older, part of a sibling group, ethnically diverse, or have significant physical, emotional, and developmental challenges.

Founded in 2006 by Christy Obie-Barrett, a devoted child advocate and adoptive mother, AFFEC has grown into an organization dedicated to locating permanent families for foster children and reuniting older foster children with lost family members. Our services encompass mentoring, advocate services, family building programs through our Adoption Agency, a host home program for homeless youth, and comprehensive support for the child, extended family members, social workers, and potential adoptive families. We also work in collaboration with local and national organizations to build partnerships and create a support network.
