## Description

The Air & Space Forces Aid Society (AFAS) is a nonprofit organization and the official charity of the U.S. Air Force. Founded in 1942, it supports Airmen, Guardians, and their families through programs designed for the challenges of military life. AFAS provides no-interest loans and grants to help with urgent financial needs, emergencies, natural disasters, and emergency travel, with the aim of supporting immediate stability and lasting solutions.

Its education programs offer grants, scholarships, and loans for eligible spouses and dependent children of active-duty and retired Airmen and Guardians. Options include the General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant, merit scholarships, supplemental education loans, spouse tuition support, and no-cost GED study for spouses and dependents. AFAS also offers community programs such as childcare assistance, Bundles for Babies, car-seat support, and resources for spouse employment and training. Eligible spouses may receive up to $2,500 for job training, professional certifications, or part-time undergraduate study.
