Afri-root Collective is a socially responsible brand that offers a unique selection of handcrafted items from highly skilled artisans in East Africa. Our mission is to provide you with the best collection of reasonably priced, one-of-a-kind products. We believe in the practice of social responsibility and ensure that not only do the artisans benefit from the profits, but a portion of each sale is reinvested to train others, particularly women, in valuable skills and sustainable practices. Craft making plays a significant role in fostering community growth, especially in regions like Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania where poverty is prevalent. Many women rely on their craftsmanship to support their families and fulfill their obligations. However, limited access to markets hinders their success. In 2006, our founder, Ritah Nakandi, recognized this need and seized the opportunity to bring these exquisite crafts to the US. At Afri-root Collective, we are passionate about making a difference. By providing an avenue for these skilled artisans to showcase their products internationally, we empower them to uplift their communities.
