## Description

Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) is a multilateral financial institution established by African sovereign states to address the continent’s infrastructure needs and challenging investment environment. With 48 member countries and investments across 36 countries, AFC positions itself as a practical partner for governments, businesses and investors seeking to develop transformative projects and support Africa’s economic growth and industrialisation.

AFC offers a broad range of infrastructure and financial solutions, including principal investing, project development, financial advisory, trade and financial-institution services, treasury solutions and syndications. It also provides debt and equity products, partnerships and developmental financing, helping structure projects and attract investment. Its work spans multiple sectors and countries, with a focus on unlocking infrastructure development and strengthening economic resilience.

The corporation supports companies and projects through investment, and highlights its ability to reduce project risks and attract third-party capital. Its stated priorities include sustainable, climate-resilient infrastructure, renewable energy and energy-transition resources. Through these activities, AFC aims to turn infrastructure into an instrument for change and contribute to a more prosperous African future.
